1. What are wax technician school enrollment and license requirements?
A Student must meet the state minimum age requirement (18 years in Virginia) to enter school and must submit the following:
- A copy of a valid state or federal issued photo identification
- A copy of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
2. How long does it take to become a licensed wax technician?
The Peach Rose Waxing Academy Wax Technician program length will vary depending on the student's class schedule. On average it will take 3 months to complete an in-person program or 2 months to complete a hybrid program.
Upon completion of the program, the Student is qualified to take the state licensing exams. Upon successful completion of state licensing requirements, the student may apply for their license and seek employment as an entry-level licensed wax technician.
3. Is financial aid available for students?
No. Peach Rose Waxing Academy does not accept financial aid, but we do accept Afterpay and Paypal Pay-In-4.
4. What does a wax technician do?
Licensed wax technicians are able to offer hair removal services, including waxing and sugaring, brow shaping services, and basic skin care services. If your focus is hair removal, then you may work directly with clients that require these services. Also, some licensed professionals choose to pursue careers in the industry as salon and spa managers, while others become sales or marketing specialists in the beauty industry. Still others go on to teach beauty school and pass on their knowledge and skills to the next generation. The choices really are endless and new opportunities for professional wax technicians arise in many different career sectors.
